Designing, brainstorming and creating, together

Initiated, funded and co-created by the European Commission and launched as a part of the 2022 European Year of Youth, EU TalentOn is a brainstorming scientific event for young talents. After a second edition in 2024 in Katowice, Brest, City of Science in 2026, will host the third edition of the competition.

For one week, participants will have to challenge themselves, collaborate and work in multidisciplinary teams, brainstorm and come up with ideas and innovative scientific solutions for major global issues of today and tomorrow.

5 Mission Arenas

EU TalentOn is a programme addressed to researchers who are willing to bring modern ideas into one of the five missions of the European Union, including: adaptation to climate change, cancer prevention and cancer patient care, ocean and water restoration, smart cities and transition towards healthy soils.

Prizes

Contestants could win a share of the €80,000 prize pool !

The best team will be awarded in four areas :

  • Main Prize for the best project in all Mission Arenas awarded by the Grand Jury €12,000
  • Special jury prize
  • First prize per Mission Arena
  • Second prize per Mission Arena

Each prize will be divided equally among each person in the winning team.

STEP BY STEP

The EU TalentOn call for proposals will start in March, 2026.

There will be three stages of evaluation:

  • Internal/ administrative evaluation
  • Peer evaluation
  • Expert evaluation

The chosen participants will be divided into teams that will challenge the five mission areas of Horizon Europe.

The EU TalentOn Finale will be held between 7 and 11 September, 2026 in Brest.
