The 3rd edition of EU TalentOn will take place in Brest, France, from 7 to 11 September 2026.
The European Union Contest for Early Career Researchers Scientists will return in September 2026 for a third edition held in Brest, France.
EU TalentOn is a science competition for 21-to-35-year-olds that brings together at least 100 early-career researchers to work on scientific solutions to societal challenges. The objective is to promote careers in research, facilitate cross-border and cross-sectoral collaboration among early-career researchers, and to promote entrepreneurship and opportunities in academia and industry.
The selected EU TalentOn participants will compete in teams of four to come up with the best scientific solutions to societal challenges linked to the five EU Missions – Adaptation to Climate change, Cancer, Ocean, Cities and Soil.
These young researchers will receive the necessary tools to create innovative and marketable solutions, and will have the opportunity to follow workshops, company visits, lectures, master classes, personal guidance and cultural experiences.
At the end of the event, each team will pitch their solution to a professional jury. Winners will receive sponsored prizes from the EU, industry and mentors.
“With EU TalentOn, we are bringing Europe’s brightest young minds to Brest. It’s a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and scientific excellence,” said François Cuillandre, Mayor of Brest and President of Brest Métropole.
